Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,
I know I didn’t let you know that Walker wasn’t doing so well this weekend but in the chaos of losing another family member, I didn’t have time to write or even prewrite a posting about it.
Walker was having a bit of trouble with peeing around Thursday, and so we immediately look to helping him get more hydrated and actually even switched up his diet.
As you may know, my little ones have been primarily on a dry food diet ever since we got them. Wet food for Beau wasn’t an option until recently (as he wouldn’t touch it), and Walker showed no signs of trouble with dry kibble so we didn’t think we needed to change his diet.
In the past year, the two of them have shown signs of UTIs and luckily we’ve actually always caught it before it gets too serious.
It’s also weird to think that my sister’s cat Avery has never had a UTI and has been fed the exact same food as these two little guys, but somehow my guys are more susceptible.
In the heat of the drama and making sure Walker gets all the care he needs we’ve decided to increase his wet food intake. We’ve also been doing a lot of research into raw food & freeze dried raw to see if it would be the better option for our trouble case kitties.
I know a few of our readers are feeding raw, and I would love to know about your experiences!
We’re so happy Walker is feeling better, is active again and is peeing a lot more! But we’re really hoping we find a solution soon because we don’t want it to keep happening.
I guess it goes to show: you will always be trying out new things for your little ones, because as they grow older more problems may arise that you will have to learn about.
