VIDEO: An Easy Game to Keep Your Cats Slim

May 17, 2017 By Johnny Salib 12 Comments

Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,

This one is going to be a short video post of Walker chasing after his food. Walker was gaining weight and my parents found it more difficult to get him to play, so I got them to try to throw kibble for Walker. Walker loves chasing kibble and honestly, this is how we feed Beau half of his meal. Beau was about 12.6 pounds a few weeks ago and he’s around 11.9 now. Impressive, eh?

We actually use a series of toys to feed Beau and I will write a longer post about that later.

In the meantime, enjoy the video of this little cutie!

Hunting for food is natural for kitties, so this is a great idea! Fun to watch…and hear Walker ‘talk’!

Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m glad you like the idea! And yes, Walker is a very talkative kitty! I’m actually kind of surprised as all the other kitties we’ve taken care of are very quiet!

Now that is a good idea. I have plenty of cats that would find the kibble and some that would just look at me and say, just what are you doing?? But I might have to give it a try. You all have a good week end.

Thanks Margaret! Yeah, it can definitely be hard to get your little one to run after them (unless they’re super food oriented like ours are!)

The Hubby would have a fit if I started throwing kibble around the house, but I really like this idea. And you cannot argue with success!

Haha! Yeah, Beau sometimes gets tired midway through and takes breaks. Obviously depends on the personality of your kitties, but it has worked with both of them and their stamina has definitely improved!
