Hey Pet Parents and Pet Lovers,
Today I have a special treat for you. You don’t get to see much of Walker & Beau on here because Walker no longer lives with us (he lives with my mom now!) So I’ll have to dig up some old footage to show you more of them together! Walker & Beau didn’t originally get along. They used to “box” each other all the time. After a few weeks Walker started becoming the “big brother.” He would chase Beau around the house, play with him and then lick him clean. At first Beau wasn’t extremely keen on Walker cleaning him… and here’s some proof:
I love it. So funny.
Beau seems to have a temper. Cats are solitary creatures, and sometimes one cat wants to play, and the other wants to sleep, or just be left alone. They’re not shy about this like humans. You know who someone comes over when you don’t want company, and you have to make small talk and pretend to be happy to seem them, and all the while you wonder when they’ll finally leave. Cats don’t have this problem. They let you know in no uncertain terms what they want.
And love the quick movement, the predatory instinct. I love watching cats play or run or attack mice toys. Their predatory side is very appealing to us humans. Could be an evolutionary trait that makes us like cats because we’re predators ourselves, meat-eaters, and because cats were needed to protect the food from mice centuries ago.
