Gary (Our Chinchilla) Eating Popcorn

Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,

It’s another easy and sweet post from us today just to fill you in on our adorable Chinchilla Gary. We’ve had Gary for a while now, and we’re still learning what he likes and dislikes. You may already know from last week’s post about chew toys that Gary chewed on his cage for a hot minute, so I looked up things we can do for him to deter him. I found out that you can actually feed your Chinchilla popped corn which seems to be doing the trick. Gary immediately stopped chewing on the cage and fell in love with the popcorn. I wouldn’t do this with any corn though, I would definitely get natural corn and make sure that they pop properly instead of having those nasty hard insides you sometimes get with human-grade popcorn. As we learned a few days ago, Chinchillas can actually get food stuck in their throats and since they can’t throw up it’s actually a huge risk to their lives, so you want to make sure you’re as safe as possible. Check out this adorable video! Also if you love the music you can check it out here.

Gee, that’s the way I eat my popcorn too…LOL! No, actually, I just put my face down into the bowl and eat like a horse. I’ll do anything for popcorn or watermelon. Gary is cute!

The video is so adorable. We love that Gary gets all excited right away when he sees the popcorn. Hope this works out for you in the long run, so he doesn’t bite the cage anymore. Thanks for sharing the video. Have a great day.
