Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,
This week has been a fairly uneventful week in the pet household. We’re starting to show our unit off to folks who are interested in renting it out, which is great for us, but not the happiest times for Kalista. Kalista is still a fraidy cat who doesn’t like it when people are around (even my parents who visit almost every week.) We’re still trying to socialize, but it’s a bit hard since we don’t have folks over very often. She tends to do a lot of hiding if folks are over, but if we close off the bedroom she will sit with our friends sometimes, which is great to see.
Beau and Kalista are continuing to get closer which is really sweet to see. It’s usually Beau initiating though. If he sees Kalista sleeping he’ll curl up beside her and sleep. I’m really hoping that they’re going to start full on cuddling soon like Beau and Walker used to do.
I will say, they’re treating each other much better than Walker used to treat Beau. Beau’s been acting like the big brother. There’s still a bit of fighting, but I feel like it’s all play now. And I can’t really tell, but I think Kalista is growing pretty fast. It’s so hard to tell when you live with them and see them day by day. It’s really making me want children one day, watch them grow up, but that’s something my partner and I have agreed that we’re not going to do… Who knows!
I mean who wouldn’t want to raise children who are as cute as these guys, but then again… Children are a lot more responsibility and we’re still very young so we have lots of time to decide.
I’ve been trying to get more artistic shots of Beau since he’s such a cute model. Look at him being all dark and mysterious!
That face is just to die for <3 I can’t get over it.
Still very sad to be giving up a place with windows that they adore, but we’ve been looking up some cat ledges and are debating even trying a DIY “cat shelf” thing as long as the condo permits.
Which reminds me, would you all be interested in seeing some of our DIY projects for cats? We’ve been creating some cute toys for them that I would love to share with you.
Aw, little Beau! Are you a sleepy Muffin! It’s only 9 AM!
Blubs been doing pretty well. He’s been growing some of his fins back, which is great to see. I hope things continue looking up for him.
We’ve been trying a new medication for him, to see if it’s more effective than the one we were using before and so far the results seem fairly positive. We’ll continue trying and I’ve been meeting loads of Betta owners on Instagram that I hope to ask lots of questions to.
Honestly, the pet community is so amazing. I really love being part of it and can’t wait to continue meeting folks!
You are all such kind and supportive people, and I’ve learned so much from your blogs! I’m so happy to wake up in the morning to read your posts! It’s actually becoming difficult to get through all of them since I’m following almost a hundred blogs now. WEUUUF.
And every morning when I go through blogs, Kalista sleeps by my feet all tucked up in bed. She doesn’t really like sleeping with us if we’re sleeping, but as soon as we wake up she’s off the bookshelf and by our sides for the rest of the day.
Or cleaning Beau, she does a lot of that too now!
That’s right girl! Give us a big stretch!
But on that note, I need to get my day started! Thanks for checking out our photos this week and we’ll be seeing you on Sunday for a brand new review <3
So sweet. I wish my cats got along that well.
Aw I’m sorry they don’t 🙁 I’m glad they do. But we had high hopes for Beau since he always seemed so playful when he heard other cats in the tv and when that kitty snuck into our apartment last year
What an adorable pair!!
Aren’t they though 💜
We’re glad Kalista and Beau are getting along well. We love seeing them cuddle together.
We cross our paws for Blub and hope he’s doing well again. Beau and Kalista are so cute, it’s nice to see them getting along so well. Bathing, cuddling, it looks like they are good friends ! Purrs
Thank you friends! And yes they are becoming such great friends <3
I would love to see your DIY projects, and the photos of Beau and Kalista being incredibly cute are…incredibly cute! As I find new blogs, the length of time to visit them all can be daunting, but I’m learning to break it up; some AM rest PM, and then it’s easier on me. Glad the Blub is doing well; I remember a goldfish of mine getting ick, and when it died, I really felt awful. I was also only a kid, but I was the only child in our household to get her own pet at that time; my father didn’t want any, and he never changed his mind even after we all grew up and moved out.
Aww, I’ll tell them you think so! And I’ll upload some DIY projects as soon as we move and have more space to store some cardboard! I really do feel bad for fish that get sick and are being kept by folks who don’t have access to information about how to properly take care of them. (This is in no way a dig at you), but I feel like as the internet grows there’s so much more resource for you to learn about what different changes in your fish mean. Growing up we had no pets, but before I was born my mom lost 3 fish due to “bad care” just because she wasn’t told that you should have a lidded fishtank or not fill the tank close to the top. After she lost those fish she never got fish again. It’s such a simple thing to let people know and I know even with “basic fish training” there was a lot Blub has gone through that I wouldn’t have known how to cure if it wasn’t for the knowledge of the internet. Even more: my mom never wanted to adopt another animal again, I think it’s because she was scared because she also killed a baby chick by mistake in Lebanon because it had eaten a screw and she didn’t know what to do for it. But now she’s doing amazing with Walker (since she kept him when I moved out and I took Beau), and she’s loving having him in the household. I don’t ever see them being split apart, it’s honestly so adorable. But it’s still one of those things where I have to make sure to check if there’s anything wrong with him every time I visit her, just because she’s not so good with the internet research.
