Back at you with another review. Today we’re talking about OurPets Corknip All-Natural Compressed Catnip Teeter Egg Cat Toy. We actually have a couple of these in the house. One with a bell and the other that makes a little tweeting noise that my sister ended up giving us!
We’ve had the toys for about a year now and I’d say they are used by Beau passively every other day. As you all know, it can be difficult to find passive toys that your little one is interested in, so I truly believe even once every few days is a good amount use for them!
The good thing about these toys is the fact that they don’t travel a great amount of distance. I know other toys such as balls (or other round little objects) get shoved under the couch in one swat. The egg does travel, but it tends to move in large semicircles, giving it a bit more play-time before it heads to the couch where all Beau’s toys like to live.
We also know Beau likes these toys as he often goes to the area where he believes they are lost and cries for us to check, and what do you know… there are there!
These toys are also durable. They haven’t cracked or left any residue (which I definitely like.) I can’t speak for the potency of catnip though, as Beau doesn’t get affected by it. However, we do have a KONG Cat Nip Spray which makes Walker go wild and definitely makes the egg smell extremely potent.
Honestly, after thinking about these toys, I think it’s time to get Walker some of his own!
All in all, you have three factors to this toy:
Does your cat like bells (or tweeting)?
Does your cat like to roll toys (or small objects) around the house?
Does your cat like catnip?
If you land at least one of these, I think it’s a pretty good buy. If you land two, you’re pretty solid. A perfect three? What are you waiting for?
So pet parents & pet lovers, this is when I ask you… have you ever had one of these toys? Do you have any to recommend we review next?
Pipo loves catnip, and carrying small or big…pom-poms around, and of course hiding them under anything nearby!
We have a couple of those pressed nip toys, but he is not intrigued by them at all. Even though ours look like mice…complete with a tail to carry them around.
That’s interesting. I wonder why Pipo isn’t interested… hmmm….!
We’ve never seen anything like that! As a rule, though, we prefer toys we can carry around in our mouths or fling under the stove. 🙂
Beau doesn’t really put toys in his mouth surprisingly. Walker will carry them around the house though!
great review! my cats loved it But the heavy rolling around the house it did all the time drove me crazy!
Ah yeah, that can be annoying on some floors. :’) Luckily, it’s something doesn’t bother me. I will say… it does get annoying if I’m recording music though ;P
Sounds like fun. We have a mouse made like that and no one ever plays with it, but there is no sound in it.
SEND IT OUR WAY! I don’t think I’ve seen a mouse toy that was made out of material like this. I’ll have to look it up!
That looks like a fun toy!
It definitely is!
Ellie’s quite the Nip fiend … and she’s always getting her toys stuck under the furniture. I’ll have to try these with her!
Try them out! I’m definitely a fan of toys that don’t scoot under the couch. That’s my biggest pet peeve :’)
