Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,
It’s been good being off work these past few days and I’ve definitely been clocking in some good time with the cats, and let’s just say… I’ve got some great shots of them just not caring anymore.
You know when you first get a cat and they are on their best behaviour? Well… not really their best, but their “I’m kind of scared to be here, so I’m not going to do anything ‘inappropriate'” behaviour.
Well, let’s just say that Beau and Kalista have made it a point that this home is theirs and no one is going to get in their way.
Even though it’s winter break, I’m not really sitting down. I’ve been fixing and repainting walls to make our apartment look better. It’s going to be a huge job since this place doesn’t look like it’s been touched up in decades (no joke).
But the cats are just chilling around the apartment not caring about anything.
Kalista has completely turned a new leaf, especially with me.
I knew it was going to take some time for her to warm up to me, but now she’s constantly flopping over for me to pet her stomach and cuddle. Well… she still doesn’t like being picked up or held and while I’m going to do my best to accept that that might just be the way that she always will be… doesn’t mean I’m not going to try to make her more cuddly!
Kalista, just once a week cuddles?
The cats must have also agreed that it is now acceptable to sit on our dinner table as they please. I guess this is what happens when you spend 3-months away from them. (Well, not completely three months… but still… since when was it okay for you to sit on the table like this Beau?
If you thought Kalista wasn’t as naughty as Beau, this is her directly beside him on my bag. She’s found her new favourite sleeping spot! Who needs cat beds anymore? Clearly not my cats!
Can you tell I’ve been enjoying taking pictures of the cats again? I’ve definitely missed them if that wasn’t clear! And now I’m just so happy to be spending so much time with them.
When I get out my camera, even just the IPad, Pipo slinks away or curls up into a ball…he hates anything to do with cameras, even though I do not use flash, and have been doing this all his life…he’s almost 14! He knows he is the center of attention, and he doens’t like that. For some reason…no camera? He is the cutest rascal! And wants belly rubs and cuddles. He is not UCD of a lap cat, though he does like the hubby’s lap way more than mine. Go figure…
Sorry I have been very AWOL. If you read my latest 2 posts you will know why…
And since on this IPad for some reason, I have to log in for each new comment, I am only commenting here…inn the interest of time and sanity…and I have to go to work now. LOL!
That should read…he is not much of a lap cat…MOL!
Oh, I can totally relate! My weekends can give me many hours of cat playtime, but one appointment here, another there, and the time slides away. When i have the camera in my hand, and cats being cute, i go crazy with photos!
I’ve been really enjoying taking pictures of the cats again!
