Blub, my Betta Fish, knows his Name! (Cute Betta Fish Story)

Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,

It might surprise you to know that Betta Fish actually have tons of personality and Blub cannot be excluded. Bettas, similar to Cats and Chinchillas tend to bond with their owners. I don’t know how many of you have seen videos of fish being pet by their owners, but here’s a really cute one I found.

Although, I can’t say that I’ve bonded with Blub as much as this fellow human has, I can say that he always knows when I’m around. Ever since we first got Blub he has always comes to the front of his tank to say hello to us as soon as he hears us come into the room. But, the sweetest thing that he does is swim to the top of the tank if we say his name. He’s a smart fish who knows what the different sounds in our house are.

For example: if he hears his food container shake he jumps out of the water to eat.

Another example: when the cats are around he knows to hide in his skeleton hideout or his floating log especially since Kalista is a truly curious kitty.

It’s been a priority of mine to make sure that Blub feels like he’s part of the family, especially after the rough ride he went through this year with Popeye. Actually, one of the main reasons I’m excited for Winter Break is for the extra time to train Blub to do some special tricks! So be ready for a bunch of cute videos and tutorials that show the bonding that happens between Blub and me!
