Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,
Given the fact that I’ve come into quite a bit of extra work, I had some money to spare from the first paycheque… so I thought… why not spoil the kitties!
We’ve been debating buying a cat tree for the past 2 years, and finally, we found a reasonably priced one on Amazon. As the product name suggests, this cat tree is fairly basic and doesn’t have a lot of extra knickknacks on it, however, we thought it would be a great addition to our home.
The AmazonBasics Cat Activity Tree with Scratching posts is a fairly simple cat tree to put together, having only 4 platforms to assemble with 7 posts to attach.
There are only 7 screws to attach to the product and honestly, it was the fastest cat tree I’ve ever assembled. (Considering I had to make at least 3 or 4 cat trees a week when I worked at the pet store.)
Each part of the cat tree is clearly labelled by letter and the instructions are fairly straightforward, although I would say the diagrams aren’t the most helpful… I would stick to just reading what letter goes where!
The bottom platforms are fairly large, giving Beau enough space to sit on them as he pleases, however the higher tiers do get fairly small, being a perfect size for Kalista, but not so much an adult cat.
I’d say the build time took about 15-minutes maximum, including the time it took to understand how to build the monstrosity.
All in all, it seems like Kalista is a bigger fan of the cat tree than Beau is, although both of them scratch on it a lot. Beau and Kalista like to run up and down it while they’re play fighting, but Beau’s not a huge fan of sleeping on it. I’d say Kalista uses it at least 4-5 hours every day, making it a worth it buy for me!I’ll give you all an update as I get to see how the cats interact with the tree, but for now, I’m just so happy to have a decently sized tree in my home!
