Hey Pet Parents & Pet Lovers,
It’s October already, and you know what that means? Halloween is right around the corner!
To be honest, we’re not really Halloween people, but I always find it really fun to look at the different costumes in case there’s actually one we want to get our little ones. So, let’s share in the fun! Here are some of my favourite cat things that are spooky-ooky for Halloween!
Halloween Bat Design Natural Sisal Cat Scratcher
A couple of things catch my eye when it comes to this adorably spooky scratching mat. I grew up with a mom who used to love to change her mats to match the time of year. So, as soon as I saw this, I was reminded of the multiple pumpkin mats my mom bought just for Halloween!
The second thing I love is the fact that its sisal on the floor. Both of my cats love to knead and will scratch anything you put down. For example, I put down my yoga mat the other day and both Beau and Kalista have been using it as a scratching mat since! Don’t be surprised if you hear that I bought one of these by next week. They’re so cute!
The Cowboy for Party Pet Cowboy Outfit
I’ll be honest, I’m not much of a “dress my cat up” kind of person. Although, I did buy Beau a sweater last year because he had the lesion on his back. Costumes like this make me aw audible, because of how cute pets look as “humans.” What I really like about this costume is the fact that it doesn’t go very far down your pet’s back, making sure they’re not too uncomfortable. Whether or not I’d try this costume out is not certain, but it is incredibly cute!
PAWZ Road Halloween Cozy Pumpkin Cat Bed
Alright, you know how crazy I’ve been getting about cat beds, especially since we got the Meowfia cat caves. Now, those are going to be terribly hard to beat, but this pumpkin bed is really doing it for me. I love how soft it looks and it can definitely help with the spooky vibe if you’re someone who likes to dress their house up for Halloween! I’m loving the fact that it’s machine washable, and I always wonder what it really means when products are “dirt resistant.”
NACOCO Cat Doctor Costume
Wouldn’t it be great if your cat was a doctor, making a nice juicy paycheque to pay for a neverending food supply… or for these adorable pet-products! I’ll admit, the photos of this costume aren’t my favourite, but the concept is definitely near the top of the list! Who knows, maybe this Halloween Beau is going to pull out his degree!
GABOSS Lion Mane Wig Costume
Lion costumes for cats have always been a must-have for me. I’ve been dying to dress Beau up with a large mane for years. There are so many cute photos and pictures of both cats and kittens with this “wig”, although I think Kalista would fit in it better. The one thing I hate about hats for cats is trying to find a size that will actually fit your cat. We had an elf hat for Beau that ended up being a bit too small, so we never put it on him.
Halloween Pumpkin Cat Sweater
A Classic type of sweater, this sweater features an adorably spooky-ookie jack-o-lantern. I’ve seen sweaters like this on cats in the past and would recommend buying a small or medium for an adult cat. I would also remove the sweater throughout the day to make sure that your cat is comfortable (especially if they are like Beau and don’t like pooping while in sweaters.)
Halloween Pattern Cat Breakaway Collar with Bell
I’m actually surprised with the lack of good looking Halloween cat collars. We’re currently a “no-collar” household, ever since Beau almost choked himself with his collar. Walker, who lives with my mom now, is still wearing his collar with identification. I’ve been thinking about trying collars again with Beau and Kalista, especially because our neighbours don’t know us or the cats yet. These should be safer since they are breakaway, but I still need to think about it. Do you like them though?
Pirate Cat Costume
What I love the most about this costume is the photo they use! Also, seeing how good it looks on the buyers’ pets makes me feel more confident in buying this hilarious cat costume. It’s similar to some of the ones above and it really has me wondering what Beau would look like scampering about like a pirate.
Funny Dress Cosplay Costume
I haven’t had a lot of time to let you know about Kalista, but this costume 100% describes her personality. She always walks as if her hands are by her side as if she’s saying “well, are you just going to stand there or are you going to bring me my food!” or “well, are you going to play with me or what?” This one is definitely a must-have for us.
Halloween Pet Bat Wings
Possibly the easiest costume for your pets to get used to, although I’ve seen some pets rip the wings off themselves. Still, these wings are a high-end pick for me. It would be cute to see both of our cats strutting around in similar outfits! I’ll be honest, if they don’t mind walking around in these, I might leave them on more often 😉
Cute Hooded Cloak Witch / Wizard Costume
Properly named, this is an absolutely adorable witch/wizard costume. I’m not so sure how well the hat will go with our cats, but the cape is my favourite thing!
Rubies Costume Company Pizza Slice Pet Suit
As much as this costume speaks to my heart and soul, it’s not very high on my list. It looks fairly uncomfortable for cats and covers way too much of their bodies. But C’mon! How adorable is it? I just want it around the house. Maybe for very, very, very rare usage.
Namsan Cat Cosplay Sailor Costume
Alright, alright, alright! Everyone stop everything and imagine Beau in this costume. This one is absolutely perfect for him, is it not? IT doesn’t cover too much of his body and he’d look so handsome as a sailor! C’mon, who’s with me!
Country Brook Petz All Hallow’s Eve Featherweight Cat Collar
What I love most about this collar is the story it tells. Classic witches on broomsticks, orange sky and chilly fall night. It makes me want to go trick-or-treating. Absolutely perfect pick for me.
Jack Expressions/Halloween Elements Gray Disney Breakaway Plastic Clip Collar
If you know me even a little bit you know I’m a huge Nightmare Before Christmas fan. I love it so much one of my friends even bought me a Disney Parks Exclusive Jack Skellington Striped Grinning Face Ceramic Mug. This, however, looks a bit big for the cats and as much as I love the creepy feller, I don’t think it’s a match for us. Boo!
Those are all of the interesting Halloween things I could find so far. If you see something I didn’t mention that you think I’d like let me know! Did you see anything on this list you love? Let me know in the comments below.
